Subsequent day
More trails, this time along a beautiful river in Gwinn.
And of course JJ12 was begging for a ride through the trails.
Then up to Marquette, a charming little city that exports iron ore, loading it onto ships using this giant dock. The chutes fold down and dump the ore from the train into the ship. (The first picture is a dock that is not in use. Generally, there is a train track up on trussing that carries trains from the city, behind the camera, to the top of the dock, as you can see in the second picture. Obviously we had a very hard time figuring out what this thing was without the train tracks.)
They also have some nice breweries, and more of the fantastic Lake Superior White Fish that we've had so much of this trip.
